A 5 Whys analysis helps you find the root cause of a problem by asking why it happened, then asking why again for each answer, five times in a row. It moves you past the obvious symptoms and toward the actual source of an issue. Teams use it to fix problems at the source instead of applying temporary patches that let the same issue come back later.
